Ons Geskiedenis

Voor 1955 was daar geen laerskool vir net seuns in die Paarl nie.

Seuns vanaf standerd 2 (gr.4) het onderrig ontvang by HJS.  Dit beteken dat die hoërskool bestaan het uit seuns vanaf standerd 2 tot matriek.  Die skool het gou oor die 700 seuns gehad.

As a result of the ever-increasing numbers, the building could not house all of the boys.

It was decided that another building should be built to accommodate the younger boys and that is when the property in Devine Street was identified.

Tot dan het alle seuns vanaf Sub A tot Standerd 1 by La Rochelle of HMS skool gegaan.  Nou heet seuns van sub A tot standerd 5 uiteindelik hul eie skool gehad.

PSS is offisieel op 24 Januarie 1955 geopen.  Die standerd 5-seuns moes hul eie banke afdra na die nuwe skoolgebou in Devinestraat.

The school opened with 371 boys and 12 teachers. 

Today, 153 years later, we have more than 500 boys and a staff complement of over 60.
